Ananda Marga Elects Its New Purodha Pramukha
On October 28, 2008, Ananda Marga General Body of Purodhas met at their camp Headquarter, Madhu Manjusa, Hehal, Ratu Road, Ranchi and elected Ac. Vishvadevananda Avadhuta as their new Purodha Pramukha and President of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha (Central).
He replaces Rev. Ac. Shraddhananda Avadhuta who passed away on October 15, 2008
Ac. Vishvadevananda Avadhuta was serving as the Acting General Secretary of the Samgha since 2003. He joined Ananda Marga as a Sanyasi in 1972 and has served in different capacities including as Mahasachiv of Ananda Marga Gurukul University based at Ananda Nagar, West Bengal, India.
In his opening remarks to the assembled audience after the announcement of his election as Purodha Pramukha, he encouraged all Ananda Marga devotees and Acaryas to work in harmony and unitedly to serve the suffering humanity. He reminded them that the comprehensive, multi-dimensional philosophy of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is an antidote for the deep problems faced by the world today. He emphasized all Ananda Margiis of their responsibilities to respond to the challenges facing humanity in all walks of life.
