Margiis notified of Lawsuit in Colorado regarding AM, Inc. – March 27, 2010
Editors Note: On February 12, 2010, the reconstituted Board of Directors of AM, Inc. sent a letter via the new board’s attorney to the former board members giving them notice that the authority of AM, Inc. had shifted to the new board. At the same time, their cooperation was requested to assist in the simple and straight-forward transfer of the organization’s documents, files, assets and real properties. That correspondence was immediately made available to most, if not all, Margiis in the New York Sector along with a cover letter.
In response, the former board members had their California attorney start a dialog with the reconstituted board’s attorney on the matter, and that dialog was progressing. Then, suddenly, a Colorado attorney filed a suit in Denver County Court, Colorado on behalf of the former board members, naming the reconstituted board members as Defendants. The following letter, from the reconstituted board, in which the Margiis were informed of the sudden legal challenge.

BABA NAM KEVALAM
Date: March 27th, 2010
To: Ananda Marga Members in New York Sector
Namaskar,
This is an update on recent activities in the New York Sector after a correspondence was sent by Sectorial Office on February 12th, 2010 which was addressed to former Board members outlining avenues of cooperation and ways to gain remedy.
In that correspondence, it was clearly stated that the communication is open and we invited response from any or every one. The former Board of Directors of Ananda Marga, Inc. chose to file a court case against us instead of responding to the remedies suggested. We would like you to be aware that with such an action our status is reduced to be a defendant. The notice of the court case came as a surprise to us.
You may be aware that the former Board members are trying to own and control the assets of Ananda Marga in New York Sector against the collective will and Baba’s system. The change of bylaws was neither authorized by Central Office nor collectively consented at the time by all WTs and Margiis.
Recent communications sent via NYS-ORG was to mislead Margiis and was an attempt to create a divide with the feeling of Regionalism. Our goal is to work for Baba’s Mission and we should remain vigilant against misleading information being floated around.
We will make every possible attempt to keep you informed of the updates and would like to receive your valuable input. You assistance of any kind is highly appreciated.
Thank you for your participation and feedback. We would apprise you of further details later today.
Best wishes and Namaskar,
Sectorial Office
